Enjoy the freedom and hire a bike and head off from Stratford Heritage Lodge.  We are located close to a bush walkway which is a great beginning to explore our town.

DAWSON FALLS: - People and bikes transported to Dawson Falls road end, bike back to Stratford (28kms) at your own leisure (mostly down hill) Visit Hollard Gardens and Possum Factory on the way

  • BYO bike Transport only 2-3 people $30.00pp, 4+ $20pp Add $40.00pp for bike hire

PLATEAU TO STRATFORD: - Tranport people and bikes to Plateau road end this is the highest road in Egmont National Park, cycle 19km back to Stratford (down hill all the way)

EGMONT NATIONAL PARK EXPERIENCE: min 2; be transported to Mountain House, walk through to Dawson Falls (2.5 hrs moderate grade) Pick up Dawson Falls return to Stratford or bikes delivered and cycle back to Stratford.

  • Walk only 2 people $50.00pp, 3+ $40.00pp
  • Transport own bikes to Dawson Falls add $10.00pp to above price or $40.00pp bike hire

CYCLE TO WHANGAMOMONA: Bike the Forgotten World Highway from Stratford to Whangamomona (64km) and we will come and pick you up. Full back up support

CYCLISTS AT THE PLATEAU ROAD END BEFORE THEIR DOWN HILL BIKE RIDE BACK TO STRATFORD 

Day One
Town around in Stratford - map and suggested itinerary to see the best of Stratford and includes bush walkway track.  Nights stay - Dinner/Bed/Breakfast/Lunch - Stratford Heritage Lodge.

Day Two: 36kms biking

Transport to Douglas - bike on quiet country roads to Te Wera via Huiroa and visit lovely Matau Tunnel - this route follows the train line.  Then you have two options for accommodation and day three:

a) Nights stay at Te Wera Valley Lodge - all food and bedding provided.

b) Nights stay at Farmstay, Makahu area - Dinner/Bed/Breakfast/Lunch.

Day Three: 25.5kms

Bike to Whangamomona on SH43 - pick up in afternoon at Whangamomona Hotel and transfer back to Stratford.

OR                                                                                 

Day Three: 20kms

Transport to Bridge To Somewhere and bike old Whangamomona Road to Whangamomona for pick up and transfer back to Stratford; note this is on mountain bike terrain (not tar seal road).
