Eastern Taranaki Experience Eltham
For those wanting a bush hut experience, but still catered. The views throughout the trip are amazing! The hut is a typical bush hut and sleeping bags are required, it does have generated power, gas fridge, heating, hot shower and three main sleeping areas for up to 10 people. All cooking is done on gas hobs so meals are basic but wholesome and healthy for walkers that have walked up an appetite.

First Day/Night: Leave Stratford 8am for
Puniwhakau area and walk through to Omoana
Saddle via Waitiri Track. The van waits to transport
you to Collier Station and then walk to Forest &
Bird Hut.

Second Day/Night: Walk through scenic areas of the station then the bush to Lake Rotorangi, return to hut.

Day Three: Be Transported a short distance to
track, walk through to lake Rotokare. Transfer
back to Stratford.
Note: Due to the nature of the terrain for this trip,
modifications may have to be made from time to
time, but accommodation is as above.
